After starting riding as a teenager, Lee rode Land’s End to John O’Groats at 15 – on a mountain bike! As a junior he began road racing, competing in the Junior National Series, and rode cyclocross for fun, but after university – despite “retiring” for a whole 6 weeks aged just 24 - his love of cyclcocross came to the fore and the other disciplines fell by the wayside. Recent years have cemented his reputation as a hard man when, after missing the start of two cross seasons due to broken bones, he came 4th and 5th in his first races back, and added two more second places to his string of top-three overall finishes in the Notts & Derby Cyclocross League.
